Architectural Lighting Design, Engineered to be Felt
Uber Projects is an architectural lighting design studio and supplier. Since 2009 we have designed, specified and delivered light for more than 1,200 residences, hotels, offices and heritage landmarks across India — from concept drawings to final focusing.
What an architectural lighting consultant actually does
Most spaces in India are lit by an electrical contractor's default layout: a grid of downlights, one colour temperature, no control. An architectural lighting designer works the other way around — we start with the architecture, the materials and how people move through the space, then build the light in layers: ambient, task, accent and decorative.
Our studio covers the full arc. We produce lighting concepts, Dialux calculations, fixture specifications, CAD layouts, control schedules and load documents — then supply the fixtures and commission the finished installation with our own teams. One point of responsibility from sketch to switch-on.
Residential & Villas
Layered lighting for bungalows, penthouses and farmhouses — circadian dimming, cove detail, art accenting and landscape integration.
Hospitality
Hotels, restaurants and bars — arrival sequences, suite ambience and F&B drama that shapes dwell time and spend.
Offices & Commercial
Low-glare workplace lighting (UGR <19), boardrooms, lobbies and retail — light calibrated for focus and presence.
Facade & Landscape
Facade uplighting, grazing, gardens, pools and pathways — architecture that can be read at night.
Heritage & Cultural
Museums, temples and landmark buildings — sensitive, conservation-aware lighting with museum-grade optics.
Lighting Control
Scene-based dimming, DALI and DMX backbones, daylight harvesting — designed into the scheme from day one, not bolted on.
Specified from the world's finest houses
We are brand-independent designers with distribution relationships most studios don't have. We specify from 100+ international brands across Europe, Japan and the USA — including Koizumi (Japan), for which we are the distribution partner in India, alongside Delta Light, Artemide, Sanssouci, Bocci and Lutron control. Fixtures are chosen by design intent and photometric performance, never by what a dealer happens to stock.
Every scheme is verified before a single fixture is ordered: lux levels, uniformity and glare ratings are calculated in Dialux, and the specification is documented tightly enough that execution leaves nothing to chance.
Where we work
The studio is headquartered in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, with projects delivered across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata and Goa. For architects and interior designers, our specification support service provides Dialux calculations, CAD layouts and budget options on your drawings — typically within ten working days.
Questions we are asked
How is lighting design different from buying good fixtures?
A fixture is only as good as its position, beam, colour temperature and control. Lighting design decides those before purchase — layered ambient, task and accent light, verified with Dialux calculations — so the budget goes into effect, not hardware. We routinely deliver more atmosphere at the same budget by specifying fewer, better-placed fixtures.
Do you only design, or also supply and install?
Both. We are a design-and-delivery studio: concept, calculations, specification, supply from 100+ international brands, then installation and commissioning by our own teams. One point of responsibility end to end.
At what stage of a project should a lighting designer come in?
Ideally with the architect, before electrical slab conduiting — that is when cove details, recessed positions and control wiring cost nothing to get right. We do retrofit existing spaces, but early involvement always yields a better scheme for less money.
Which cities do you take projects in?
We are based in Hyderabad and deliver projects across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata and Goa. Site visits, supervision and commissioning are part of every engagement, wherever the project is.
